I first got involved with fire safety whilst working for the then national coal board in 1985.

After being made redundant it was for me a natural evolution into the commercial world of fire safety. Coming from a coal mining background I knew how important fire safety is and was confident that I could offer this service on a commercial basis, along with my wife I started the business in 1997, the foundation our company was built on is and always will be integrity and service.

When the RRO came into force we embraced it knowing that this will become the pinnacle of fire safety and the driving force in ensuring that the client got what they needed, not necessarily what they wanted but, nevertheless what they needed.

Our goals and objectives are to nurture our clients and hold their hands through the procedure by helping them understand what they are obliged to do. When a commitment is made by us to them, my duty is to interpret the legisaltion in a way that sits comfortably with them until the process is complete

Other services we provide:

  • Fire warden training
  • Fire awareness training
  • Portable extinguisher maintenance
  • Fire alarm installation/maintenance
  • Dry riser testing
  • Hydrant testing
  • Electrical installation/periodic test and inspection

I have over thirty years of fire safety experience including 30 years with South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue. My final role with South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue was Doncaster District Fire Safety Manager responsible for all fire engineered solutions, Building Control Liaisons, major projects and fire safety enforcement within DMBC.

Examples of the fire engineering work undertaken in Doncaster are Robin Hood International Airport, the new Doncaster Rovers Football Ground, the 5 storey Atrium College Building, the Frenchgate Shopping Centre recently extended to provide the same retail space as the Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, the new racecourse grandstand and several new and proposed commercial premises including hotels and large high bay storage warehouses.

I specialise in fire risk assessments, the application of fire safety standards and providing conformity with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Building Regulations 2000. I also provide training sessions on these subjects.

I regularly provide fire engineered solutions for clients which enable them to obtain Building Regulations approval for layouts that do not conform to Approved Document B.
